Mike Epps

Stand Up Comedy

The comedian and Indiana native Mike Epps made a name for himself in Hollywood with his work in "All About The Benjamins" and his recurring role as Day Day in the "Friday" series. The actor’s resumé includes the Starz series "Survivor’s Remorse" as well as the movies "The Hangover," "The Hangover Part III," "Fifty Shades of Black," "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and HBO’s Emmy-winning movie "Bessie." In 2016 he joined the cast of a remake of the movie "Death Wish," playing opposite Bruce Wills as the lead character's pal.

A Conversation with Harry Belafonte


Belafonte, the Civil Rights activist and singer, released a new anthology of his work in early 2017, “The Legacy of Harry Belafonte: When the Colors Come Together.” Writing for The New Yorker, Amanda Petrusich has alled him "one of America’s most vital and insurrectionary folk singers." Born in Harlem and reared at least some of the time in Jamaica, Belafonte, who was born in 1927, began his professional life an actor and jazz singer but was diverted by the possibilties of using folk music to promote social change. His first album, "Calypso" from 1956, was the first full-length album by a solo artist ever to sell a million copies and contained with the breakout hit single "The Banana Boat Song." He has won Grammys, a Tony, an Emmy and the National Medal of Arts. He was also a confidant of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
