Iliza Shlesinger

Stand Up Comedy

Winning "Last Comic Standing" (season six) may seem to be the beginning of a career in comedy, but not for Dallas native Iliza Shlesinger. Being the first female and the youngest winner of the competition show is just a part of this very hard-working comedian’s career. She has been perfecting her comedy by working at clubs nearly every night since she moved to Los Angeles, after graduating from Emerson College, and began her career in earnest. She recently completed the inaugural season of “Truth & Iliza,” her very own late night talk show on Freeform (formerly ABC Family). The self-styled talk show is a cross between social commentary, politics, pop culture and Iliza’s specific brand of feminism. In November 2017, her first book, "Girl Logic: The Genius and the Absurdity," a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman's approach to friendship, singlehood, and relationships, will be published through Weinstein Books.
